Richard “Rick” L. Thomas, 55 of Northwood, OH and formerly of Temperance, MI, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.  Born March 12, 1959 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Robert and Peggy (Zickefoose) Thomas.  A 1977 graduate of Bedford High School, he married Tamyra L. Jones on April 21, 1979.  Rick retired after 30 years as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker. In 1993 he obtained his Investment Representative and Insurance License and practiced for several years.  He was an Amateur Radio Operator (WB8TVL) since he was 16 years old, obtaining his Extra License. Rick had a close walk with God, reading the Bible on a daily basis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Tammy.  Children, Adrienne (Bill) King and Trent Thomas.  Mother, Peggy Thomas.  Father, Robert Thomas.  Sister, Robi Thomas.  Brothers, Randy (Kelly Barnett) Thomas and Phillip (Kristine) Thomas.  Grandson, William “Liam” King.  Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Thomas.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Temperance, MI.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
